Thanksgiving for more than one reason!

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
and into His courts with praise:
be thankful unto Him,
and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting;
and His truth endureth to all generations.”

“Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
Come to Godโ€™s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.”
~Henry Alford~

who abundantly bestows grace and favour on our lives!

Grandparents visit, a surprise from the closet, and a music night! Part 1

We have been blessed to have our grandparents visiting from Florida these past couple weeks. We have enjoyedย  many times of fellowship as a family and would like to share some of them with you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Paul was so happy to have his "second Mama" back from Florida!

Granddaddy was so glad not to have to drive that behemoth of a RV for two whole weeks!:)

An imperfect picture of one of Grace's practically perfect Fall artworks.

Mother and Daughter smile for the camera.

One morning I open the door of the broom closet, and who should I see but:

Uncle Hans!

Needless to say, I was shocked out of my wits. :O

He had driven all the way down from Canada to visit us! Isn’t that sweet? We hadn’t seen him in 5 years!

Emma couldn't *quite* remember Uncle Hans.

Papa was so happy (and surprised!) to see his older brother!

One night we had a bonfire.

Grandmama enjoys the fire from her Polaris.

While Sarah and Emmy enjoy it from a comfortable bed on the ground.:)

Uncle Hans preferred to stand.

Granddaddy enjoyed looking at the stars, which were beautiful!

ย Thanks for stopping by!

Come back next time for Part 2!

Trip to Florida Part Two!

Hey y’all!

ย Kitty did an excellent job on the prequel to this post: But, since she is on vacation right now, I’m going to finish this series of postsย  for her. ๐Ÿ™‚ My captions will not be half as witty or interesting as hers, but I hope y’all enjoy them anyways!

While the girls (and Cj!) gathered 'round the computer one night at the Stricklens....

The men were involved in conversation. (Don't worry, us girls did that too!)

Rose was happy to be able to spend so much time with Becka!

“Sisters, Sisters…” :

The last day we were in Florida we went to the beach with the extended family! We had a wonderful time! ๐Ÿ™‚

Grace babysits on the way to the beach!:)

Em and Vannah were thrilled!

My dear elder sisters! ๐Ÿ™‚

Grandmama and Abby enjoying the picnic!

Will you join me for a bite to eat?

The Bonny, Bonny Blue.

Grandmama is always ready for a hug!

The ocean is so beautiful!

Father and daughter building sandcastles together!

Abby and I pose for a picture.

Wills, Aunt Molly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Siblings enjoying the water together.

Waiting for a wave...

Mandy and Mary.

Cousins. <3

Smileeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!:)

Peter grins for the camera while Amanda looks a bit confused..

I think this was Paul’s first time at the beach! He was loving it!

Emma Janey looking very happy!

Granddaddy loves to fish!

Resting.

He loves to be with his Grandsons!

And the three amigos build their sandcastle.

We were so happy that Amanda was able to join us!

I love my family!<3

They have a very special bond! ๐Ÿ™‚

She trusts her older sisters so much!<3

Paul and Clay. ๐Ÿ™‚

That night was Daniel’s 18th birthday adult dinner.

Here he is with Grandmama and Granddaddy.

Early the next morning we left Florida and our relatives behind and headed for Hearth and Home.

We stopped at the Whiddon’s house to say hello,

and then weย  headed on to the Powers’ for the night.

I’m sorry to say that we doย  not have more pictures of these two happy occasions, so you will just have to imagine what they were like. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We arrived safely home the next night to a loving father and a farm we loved.

<3

Thanks for stopping by, y’all! See you next time!
